These walks have no set theme—just an opportunity to explore\, observe\, and connect with both nature and each other.\n\nThese walks are weather permitting\, so please double check our social media or website the day before for updates.\nLocation: The Rez\nLeader: Jim Wilson\nTime: 6:30 PM – Walks last about 1.5 hours and finish near sunset.No registration needed!What to Expect: \n\n\nWe’ll move slowly\, pausing often to look at plants\, birds\, insects\, and anything else that catches our eye.\nIf you recognize something\, share your knowledge. If you don’t\, someone else might know.\nBring binoculars\, cameras\, or a magnifying glass to get a closer look at nature’s details.\nDress comfortably and layer up in case the weather changes.\n\nWe Need Walk Leaders:\n\nLeading is simple: greet participants\, gather the group\, and help keep us on schedule. DESCRIPTION:The Shorebirds of Saints Rest: Talk & Walk \nSaturday\, August 23\, 2025 | 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM \nIrving Nature Park\, Saint John\, NB \n  \nJoin nature educator Paul Martin for a free shorebird walk and talk at Irving Nature Park. \n  \nWe’ll start with a short presentation about the amazing migration of the Semipalmated Sandpiper and tips for identifying other shorebirds you’ll likely encounter at the park. Then we’ll head to Saints Rest Beach to see them in action and learn how they survive in this coastal habitat. \n  \nMeet at the Irving Nature Park Barn on Sand Cove Rd. All ages welcome. \n  \nThis event is part of the Shorebird Conservation and Education Project\, a project of the Saint John Naturalists Club with funding from Birds Canada\, NB Environmental Trust Fund and NB Wildlife Trust Fund.
