SUMMARY:Wander & Wonder Walks: The Rez
DESCRIPTION:The last Wander & Walk of 2026! \nJoin us for a slow and curious walk around Little River Reservoir\, following the main loop trail through the mix of open water\, forest\, streams and wetlands that make this such an interesting spot for wildlife. \nWe’ll keep our eyes and ears open for ducks and other waterfowl\, songbirds\, insects\, plants and other signs of wildlife as we make our way around the reservoir. \nThe loop is wide\, relatively flat and easy-going\, making it a great place to slow down and notice what’s around us rather than simply walking from one end to the other. \n  \nLeader: Tawnee Dwyer

SUMMARY:The New Normal: White Sharks in Atlantic Canada
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our September monthly meeting! This presentation will explore the history of white sharks in the Maritimes\, how our relationship with these animals has changed over time\, and what recent encounters can tell us about their behaviour. Dr. Harvey-Clark will also share findings from his research using photographs to identify individual sharks and track their movements. \nFrom 2019 to 2025\, Dr. Harvey-Clark studied white sharks in Nova Scotia\, identifying 60 individual sharks and tagging three. His research also documented several unusual human-shark interactions\, giving us new insights into these often misunderstood animals. \n
