The volunteer PLBO Chair oversees the activities of the Observatory, working closely with the PLBO Committee, the Club Executive, and the Program Coordinator. This role provides leadership and coordination to ensure the continued success of migration monitoring, volunteer engagement, and research initiatives.

- Chair PLBO Committee meetings
- Collaborate with the Club Executive and Program Coordinator
- Oversee planning and seasonal preparation for monitoring activities
- Review and monitor project-related financial information
• An enthusiasm for migration monitoring and a residence in the greater Saint John area
• Familiarity with the birds of the Maritime Region
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to effectively engage with volunteers
• Experience with project management
• Familiarity with basic financial statements
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record report
• Experience with surveys or scientific data collection
• Experience with resource management
• Membership in the Saint John Naturalists’ Club
• Ability to communicate in French
The current Chair is prepared to work with their successor for up to two years following appointment, if needed, to ensure a smooth and supported transition.
