Join our mission of protecting shorebirds and their habitats by promoting awareness and education. By helping beach visitors understand the importance of leashing dogs and respecting resting areas, you play a direct role in shorebird conservation.

Responsibilities
- Engage respectfully with beach visitors
- Promote awareness about shorebird habitat protection
- Explain the importance of leashing dogs and maintaining safe distances from resting birds
- Encourage positive, conservation-minded behaviour
Qualifications
- Comfortable speaking with members of the public
- Friendly, respectful, and approachable
- Passionate about wildlife conservation
- No prior experience required (training provided)
Training & Gear
- A training session is provided prior to the season
- Volunteers are loaned an official ID vest to wear during shifts
- Volunteers are loaned a pair of binoculars during shifts
- Each volunteer receives a “Shorebird of the Year” ball cap to keep as a thank-you

Time Commitment
Weekend shifts are 2.5 hours long. Volunteers may choose as few or as many shifts as they like during the season.
