Weather: Cloudless skies during the AM. 5% cloud-cover during the afternoon. Wind NW around 10kmh increasing a bit and getting a little gusty during the afternoon while becoming WNW. Rh 88 dropping to 53.Notes:
Very light movement today, but it is the first day of the season. That said, nine raptor species observed in a day is not too bad at any time of year. Local raptors observed: male and female American Kestrel, Merlin, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Northern Goshawk (attacking a Red-tail), Red-tailed Hawk, Osprey (3), Bald Eagle (several), Turkey Vulture (roughly 10)
Highlights: Excellent viewing of the following species: Merlin, American Kestrel, Osprey, Bald Eagle, Turkey Vulture
Birds going for the decoy: Merlin, American Kestrel (male and female)
Raptor interactions: Northern Goshawk and Red-tailed Hawk, Bald Eagle and Osprey, Bald Eagle and Bald Eagle, American Kestrel and Turkey Vulture (aggressor listed first)
Non-raptors: A few swifts and swallows still hunting over Chamcook Lake. No notable movement of non-raptors was observed.
