Saints Rest Beach Report for Sunday, September 7, 2025
Despite intermittent showers and a forecast for heavier rainfall in the early afternoon,
every volunteer scheduled for the day’s beach shift arrived at Saints Rest Beach. The
group demonstrated their commitment to conservation work despite the inclement
weather.
As the start time for the shift approached, rainfall intensified. Given the worsening
conditions, the group decided to cancel the conservation activities for the day. The
adverse weather also resulted in a noticeable absence of fishers and beach walkers,
which meant that the birds present faced minimal risk of disturbance from human
activity.
The day’s dedicated volunteers included Debra Wilson, Jan Lucy, Don Evans, Signe
Winters, Steven Sanderson and Gabi Dragomir with Hank Scarth acting as lead
volunteer
