East Beach

Due to time of day , amount of light the East Beach was not checked.

Notes / Comments:
Piping plover still present along with a Red Knot, when I first arrived on beach I didn’t start my ebird, realized it after seeing Piping Plover.
Was on the beach for a while, large number of peeps and met a couple of birders. My GPS was on my ebird so it won’t let me edit the time, I was on beach longer than ebird states as ebird stopped while I was counting large flock of peeps.

Mudflats

Notes / Comments (Mudflats):
Was originally planning on going to mid section point for count due to arriving on mudflats late but Irving didn’t have the route open till 10am so went with the seal trail bench, but even though the birds were more spread out I was able to get good sightings and numbers.
Overall Report Comments or Notes:
High Tide this morning was just after sunrise vrs High Tide at evening being close to sunset. I chose to do the morning giving me more time on the mudflats and on the beach.
Peregrine Falcon on the beach and Mudflats hunting peeps, Bald Eagle adult out over bay at beach but immature over the mudflats along with 2 Broad Wing Hawks that were circling over the center of the mudflats. Not sure on hawks presence effecting peeps.
